THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
Dominick Balsamo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) led the offense for the Bullets with four hits and five RBIs in the two games.
John Francesconi (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) threw four innings of shutout ball in game one before Ben Sinclair (Auckland, New Zealand/Auckland Grammar School) closed out the final five innings with four strikeouts and two hits for his first collegiate win in his first game in the opener.
• In the second game, Alex Wilkie-Viscio (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) threw four innings with two hits and three strikeouts for the win. Luca Tosca (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) tossed the final three innings to complete the 16 innings of scoreless ball.

FOR THE FOES
• Kevin Bukowski led the Pride with two hits.
• Kyle Peters was 1-for-2 for the Pacers.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) led off the bottom of the second with a double before scoring on a Dominick Balsamo double. A pair of walks loaded the bases before Widener traded two-for-one with a double play that allowed Balsamo to score for a 2-0 lead.
Henry Smith (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) reached on a one-out single in the fifth before stealing second. After a Will Bercaw (Langhorne, Pa./The Pennington School) walk, Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) drew a two-out walk to load the bases. Amirata walked to force in Smith before Bercaw scored on a passed ball for a 4-0 lead.
• Gettysburg tacked on a run in the seventh when an Amirata one-out single plated Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston), who was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame.
• Against William Peace, Amirata walked to start the fourth before Balsamo followed with a triple to dent the scoreboard. A Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) sacrifice fly made it 2-0.
Mike Coleman (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) led off the fifth with a single to start a six-run frame. Six straight Gettysburg hitters reached to start the frame, including back-to-back doubles from Amirata and Balsamo.
• A Balsamo sacrifice fly plated Bercaw to make it 9-0 in the sixth before the Bullets plated seven more in the seventh for the run-rule win. Back-to-back walks started the inning before Coleman doubled home Roche. In total, Gettysburg drew five walks in the frame, including two with the bases loaded. Brayden Casas (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) had a two-run, pinch-hit single for his first hit.
