Gettysburg sent
Stefano Orlando to compete in the two-day multis meet hosted by Susquehanna.
THE LEADERS
- Stefano Orlando (Norwalk, Conn., New Canaan) competed in the decathlon for the Bullets placing eleventh with a Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying score of 4,440 points.
FOR THE FOES
- It was a non-scoring meet.
THE REST OF THE STORY
- Orlando placed second in shot put with a CC-qualifying distance of 11.55 meters. He added three more CC-qualifying finishes in the 100, 110-meter hurdles, and long jump. Finishing the 100 in sixth with a time of 11.74 seconds, the 110-meter hurdles in tenth with a time of 18.64 seconds and long jump in 11th with a leap 5.69 meters.
THE INSIDE STORY
- Stefano Orlando (Norwalk, Conn., New Canaan) placed sixth in discus with a season-best toss of 28.24 meters. He added five more season-bests in javelin, pole vault, the 400, the 1500m and high jump. Placing seventh in javelin with a toss of 38.42 meters, pole vault in tenth with a height of 2.90 meters, the 400 in 11th with a time of 1:00.81, the 1500 in 11th with a time of 6:08.27, and high jump in 12th with a leap of 1.48 meters.
