Gettysburg College Athletics

Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 34th all-time meeting between Gettysburg (10-7, 3-6 CC) and Washington (Md.) (10-7, 5-4 CC) in a series that dates back to 1993. The Bullets lead the all-time series 20-13 but the Shorewomen have won the last two meetings. The last Bullet victory was a 3-1 win in 2021.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Neither team scored until the second half, when Washington put up two goals in the third period for a 2-1 win over Gettysburg. Hailey Rhine scored Gettysburg's goal in the 58th minute. Samantha McMahon scored the eventual gamewinner for the Shorewomen. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LAST TIME OUT: Bryn Mawr, ranked 11th, scored a goal in each of the first three quarters for a 3-0 win over Gettysburg. Emilia Saccento led the Bullets with four saves. Reba Ervin recorded two goals and an assist to lead the Owls, who clinched a conference playoff spot with the win. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

THANK YOU, SENIORS!: Today marks the final game for 13 Gettysburg seniors. The group of Andie Aloi, Bella Bonazinga, Makiah Brewer, Morgan Cherry, Greta Lacey, Sarah Lamberty, Katie Regan, Olivia Regan, Madison Rowell, Carmen Roy, Brinsley Rushe, Tori Trivett and Alex Wenz has been a part of 27 wins over the last four seasons, combining for no fewer than 42 goals and 22 assists during time at Gettysburg. 

LAST TIME OUT: Kat Esposito became the third player in the history of the Washington College to tally 100 career points on a second quarter goal, but it was MaryCate Anson netting the game-winning score with 3:19 to go in the fourth quarter to break a 3-all tie in a 4-3 victory over host No. 24 Swarthmore. WHAT'S THE SCENARIO?: Washington enters today's finale as part of three-way tie for fifth place. Bryn Mawr and Haverford are locked in a battle with the Shorewomen for the final two playoff spots. Bryn Mawr has the inside track on one of those two spots, securing the spot with just a win over McDaniel. Washington needs a win to assure itself the other spot. Haverford would need one of the other two teams to falter and pick up a win over Swarthmore to earn a postseason berth.
