LAST TIME OUT: Carnegie Mellon capped a 7-6-4 overall record in 2023 with a 2-0 home loss to Case Western Reserve in the finale. The Tartans were winless in UAA play, going 0-4-3. (Full Recap) (Box Score)
OPENING STATEMENTS: The Tartans open their season with a pair of games on the trip east. Carnegie Mellon opens the year at York on Friday night before the Sunday contest here. It is the only time the Tartans leave Western PA or Eastern Ohio until UAA play starts in October.
HIGH-POWERED ATTACK: Carnegie Mellon averaged 2.0 goals per game last season and finished with six players who netted three or more goals. However, 26 of those 34 goals came in the month of September, getting the team off to a 7-1-2 start. The Tartans will have to replace the nine goals and 23 points lost to the graduation of first-team All-UAA selection Josh Baugh. Three of the other five return up front for CMU, however. Dominic Hoar-Weiler was honorable mention all-conference a rookie last season, anchoring the defense.
