FIRST PITCH: Today's non-conference doubleheader marks the 64th and 65th all-time meetings between No. 17 Gettysburg (16-3) and Lebanon Valley (8-8) in a series that dates back to 1985. The Bullets lead the all-time series 40-23 but the Flying Dutchmen have won four in a row, including in the NCAA regional last May.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Gettysburg scored the first two runs of the game but Lebanon Valley rallied to tie the game before scoring the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 3-2 win in the first round of the NCAA Div. III softball tournament at Virginia Wesleyan last season. Gabby Wood led the Bullets with a 2-for-3 at the plate. Megan Heard led the Dutchmen with two hits. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg needed extra innings in both games but came away with a sweep of Bridgewater, taking game one 2-1 before grabbing the nightcap 5-3 on Sunday. Paige Forry picked up the win for the Bullets in both games, going the distance in game one with eight strikeouts before throwing the final two innings of game two. Zoe Brennan had a career-high three hits in the second game. McKenna Muller led the Eagles with two hits and drove in the lone run of game one. (Full Recap) (Game 1 Box) (Game 2 Box)

NO. 17 WITH A BULLET: Gettysburg rose to 17th in the latest NFCA Div. III coaches' poll on Tuesday. The Bullets debuted at 24th two weeks ago before rising to 21st last week. The No. 17 national ranking is not only the best in program history but it is the highest known ranking for any Centennial Conference softball team.

The Bullet staff is currently ranked in the top 25 in ERA (1.58), shutouts (4), strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.64), and WHIP (1.05). Paige Forry leads Division III with 12 wins in the circle and is third in complete games with 10. Her four individual shutouts is fourth in the nation.

LAST TIME OUT: Lebanon Valley posted a balanced effort in its doubleheader sweep of Alvernia, delivering an offensive clinic and strong pitching during 10-2 and 9-1 run-rule victories in five innings on Tuesday. Emily Mitchell helped lead LVC in the first game with five RBIs while Erin Pattillo knocked in three runs in the second matchup. (Full Recap) (Game 1 Box Score) (Game 2 Box Score)
