NFHCA Division III All-Academic Squad

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Seven members of the Gettysburg College field hockey team have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, it was announced Thursday.

The Academic Squad honors student-athletes who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year. Representing Gettysburg were sophomore Megan Bernstein, freshman Megan Feeg, freshman Kelly Madden, junior Nicole Meredyth, senior Vanessa Pabon, sophomore Martha Tahsler, and freshman Laura Wilsusen. Meredyth and Pabon earned a spot on the team for the third year in a row while Bernstein was honored for the second straight season.

Gettysburg closed out the 2009 season 14-5, including an 8-2 mark in the Centennial Conference, finished with a No. 17 national ranking, and posted its highest victory total and highest final ranking since 2005. The Bullets placed second in the final conference standings.
