BALTIMORE – Johns Hopkins University prevented a three-game losing streak inside its own gym to Gettysburg College with a 45-37 victory in Centennial Conference women's basketball action Thursday night.

Junior
Alyssa Oursler led Gettysburg with a season-high 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor. She also grabbed seven rebounds. Senior
Sara Kinsley just missed her third double-double of the campaign with nine points and 11 rebounds, while adding six blocked shots. With 141 career blocks, Kinsley is now just six shy of the school record held by Katie Reilly '07.

The Bullets jumped out to the lead initially with Oursler's second bucket of the game pushing the lead to 10-4 at 12:58. Gettysburg maintained the advantage, but led just 20-19 after a jumper by Chantel Mattiola before the halftime buzzer.
Johns Hopkins mounted the pressure at the start of the final period by grabbing three offensive rebounds and forcing two turnovers in the opening minutes. The hosts took their first lead at 22-20 on a three-pointer by Mattiola just past the two-minute mark. The Blue Jays kept a slim advantage until a 7-0 run by the visitors capped by a jumper by senior

Both teams struggled to find their touch as Gettysburg canned just 18-of-51 (35.3 percent) attempts from the field and Johns Hopkins hit 18-of-55 (32.7 percent). The Blue Jays held a 45-37 lead on the boards and held an 18-4 advantage in points off the bench.
