GETTYSBURG, Pa. –
Alyssa Isler (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) scored a game-high 19 points and
Caroline Murphy (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) and
Jenna Swope (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) each recorded double-doubles to lead Gettysburg past Dickinson 62-46 in Centennial Conference women's basketball action inside Bream Gym Wednesday night.
Gettysburg (12-5, 9-3 CC) has won eight of its last nine contests to solidify its spot in second place in the conference standings. The Bullets have an opportunity to close the two-game lead currently held by Swarthmore College (15-2, 11-1 CC) with a match up against the Garnet inside Tarble Pavilion on Saturday at 1 p.m. Swarthmore defeated Gettysburg 53-52 in the teams' first meeting on Dec. 8.
After entering the second half facing a 28-23 deficit, Dickinson rallied to tie the game 30-30 on a jumper by Sarah Phillips with 17:45 to play. It was a short-lived tie as the Bullets came right back as Swope converted a backdoor lay-up just 13 seconds later. Isler nailed a three-pointer on Gettysburg's ensuing possession and Murphy knocked down a jumper from the elbow to put the advantage at 37-30 with 15:18 on the board.

Rianna Doane (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) gave Gettysburg its first double-figure lead at 48-38 with 10:21 left. The play sparked a 10-point run by the Bullets with a fast-break lay-up by Murphy putting the score at 55-38 at 7:42.
Gettysburg held the lead for most of the first half until an 8-0 run bolstered by a pair of three-pointers by Lindsay Finnerty gave Dickinson a 23-20 advantage. The Bullets would answer with an 8-0 run of their own to end the frame capped by lay-ups by Isler and junior
Cori Younghans (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury).
Gettysburg, which leads the nation in field-goal percentage defense, saw its streak of holding opponents below 30 percent shooting from the floor come to an end as Dickinson finished 18-for-45 (40 percent). The Bullets had held their previous 13 opponents below 30 percent.
The Bullets out-rebounded the Red Devils 43-32, including a 15-4 margin on the offensive glass. Gettysburg also forced Dickinson into 25 turnovers, while only committing 15 of its own.
Isler finished an efficient 7-of-10 from the floor, including knocking down all three of her attempts from beyond the arc. She dished out four assists and picked up two steals.
Murphy notched her sixth double-double of the campaign with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She also added a career-high five steals and two blocks. Swope scored 14 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.
Dana Walsh led Dickinson with 10 points and six assists. Phillips finished with nine points and Bridget Borgese added eight points and four rebounds.
