Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Lindsey Nichols poured in a career-high 31 points to lead No. 25 McDaniel College past Gettysburg College 59-43 in a Centennial Conference women's basketball contest inside Bream Gym Saturday afternoon.
Gettysburg (16-8, 10-8 CC) will travel to Haverford College (15-10, 13-5 CC) for the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament on Feb. 24. McDaniel (23-2, 16-2 CC) enters the conference playoffs as the top seed and will host the semifinals and championship on Feb. 27-28.

Samantha Pagel (Harleysville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and
Jenna Swope (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) were recognized for their contributions to Gettysburg's basketball program.
The game was close in the early going with the lead changing hands 10 times in the opening period. A lay-up by junior
Jessica Porter (Narberth, Pa./Lower Merion) made it 8-4 in favor of the hosts, but McDaniel rattled off a quick eight points – all by Nichols – to regain the lead 12-8 with 13:42 to play in the period.
Later in the first half, freshman
Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severna Park) knocked down a three-pointer to put the Bullets back in front 24-22 with 3:47 to go. The sharp-shooting Nichols knocked down a pair of three pointers as part of another eight-point spurt to give the visitors a 30-24 advantage going into the break.
McDaniel's lead quickly grew to 15 (41-26) at the start of the final period, but Gettysburg fought back, posting a 10-1 run to pull to 42-36 with 12:17 left. That would be as close as the Bullets would get as the Green Terror mounted a 12-0 run capped by a jumper by Nichols that made it 54-36 with 6:02 remaining.
Gettysburg shot 19-of-53 (35.8 percent) from the floor, while McDaniel finished 21-of-57 (36.8 percent). The Bullets were undone by 20 turnovers that led to 24 points for the Green Terror.
Nichols finished 11-of-18 from the floor, including 7-of-9 from beyond the arc in topping her previous personal best by two points. Alyssa March added 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Steph Perez finished with 10 points.
Porter tallied 10 points and grabbed five boards for Gettysburg. Swope posted seven points, while Pagel managed four points, eight rebounds, and a pair of steals.
