GETTYSBURG, Pa. – For more than four decades, Head Coach
Barry Streeter has impacted the lives of more than a thousand student-athletes at Gettysburg College. Streeter recently announced his retirement from coaching, but Gettysburg will seek to continue his legacy with an endowed fund in his name.
Streeter completed his 39th season at the helm of Gettysburg's football program on Nov. 11. He joined the Bullets as an assistant coach in 1975 and took on the mantle of head coach just three years later. Gettysburg claimed three Centennial Conference titles from 1983-85 with the 1985 team advancing all the way to the NCAA Division III semifinals, a feat still unmatched in conference history. Streeter leaves Gettysburg as the program's all-time leader in victories with 196.
Wins and championships aside, Streeter built his program on integrity and character and sought to bestow life lessons on all of his student-athletes, coaches, and colleagues. He will be greatly missed at Gettysburg, but his legacy can live on with your help.
To honor Barry and his remarkable legacy at Gettysburg, we are fundraising to create an endowed fund in his name that will help the football team achieve greatness for years to come—both on and off the field. To reach our goal, we will need to raise at least $50,000.
