First-Round Rundown: The Centennial Conference is holding a postseason event for the 23rd consecutive season. Gettysburg is making its fifth consecutive and 14th appearance overall. The Bullets won their only league championship in 2013. Johns Hopkins trails only Muhlenberg in tournament appearances with 20. The Blue Jays missed last season's event, ending a streak of seven-straight showings. Johns Hopkins has claimed four Centennial championships with its last coming in 2003.

The Coaches: The two coaches for the first round are on near-opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of Centennial tenure. Gettysburg mentor Nate Davis has led his team to the postseason in each of his two seasons and has accrued a record of 37-13, which represents the most wins and best winning percentage by a Bullet head coach through 50 games. Johns Hopkins head coach Nancy Funk has a had a hand in every conference title won by the Blue Jays and is 539-263 in 31 seasons at the school.

The Series: Johns Hopkins carries a 40-30 edge in the all-time series with Gettysburg. The two teams have split the regular-season match ups in each of the last two campaigns. Gettysburg won their only playoff meeting 56-43 inside Bream Gym in the Centennial Conference semifinals in 2013.

Last Meeting: Gettysburg and Johns Hopkins turned in one of the top games of the season with the Blue Jays pulling off an epic 84-83 overtime victory on Feb. 1. Sophomore Lillian Scott knocked down a game-tying three-pointer at the end of regulation and finished with a Centennial season-high 37 points to lead Johns Hopkins. Sophomore Emma Dorshimer (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) paced Gettysburg with 26 points, while junior Emily Gibbons (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) posted a double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds.

Gettysburg Preview: Gettysburg wrapped up the No. 4 seed in the tournament with a 14-6 record in conference play. The Bullets finished 18-7 overall and are speeding into the postseason riding a three-game winning streak. Junior Emily Gibbons leads the conference in points per game (18.6), rebounds per game (13.8), field-goal percentage (.586), and double-doubles (21). She has posted a double-double in a conference-record 13 consecutive games and she has set or is on pace to set single-season program records for rebounds, defensive rebounds, rebounding average, field-goal percentage, and double-doubles. Sophomore guard Emma Dorshimer ranks second to Gibbons in the CC in scoring at 17.1 points per game and she paces the conference in free throw percentage (89.1). Dorshimer has reached double-figures in all but four games, including 10 efforts of 20 or more. Gettysburg leads the conference in field goal percentage (.426), free throws made per game (13.1), defensive rebounds per game (30.9), and rebounding margin (8.0).

Johns Hopkins Preview: Johns Hopkins secured a playoff spot by winning five its last six contests, including each of the final three games. Four of those victories came by 20 points or more, helping the team finish 13-11 overall and 12-8 in conference play. Sophomore Lillian Scott ranks third in the league in scoring at 16.2 points per game and failed to reach double-figures in just three outings all season. Scott dropped in a combined 55 points in the two meetings with Gettysburg. Senior Caroline Corcoran held the hot hand in Johns Hopkins' final three games, averaging 21.3 points per game and shooting 60.5 percent from the field.
