LANCASTER, Pa. – Two members of the Gettysburg football team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team, released on Wednesday.

Doug Cummings (Mooresville, N.C./Pleasant Valley [Pa.]) earned first-team kicker and second-team punter honors while Chris Lessel (Orefield, Pa./Parkland) was tabbed honorable mention.

Cummings, a senior, earned all-conference honors for the first time in his career. He was named first team as kicker and also earned second-team accolades as punter. As a kicker, he connected on 5 of 10 field-goal attempts, including a season-long 44-yarder at Muhlenberg on Oct. 1. He was also 19-for-20 in extra-point attempts. He averaged 55.6 yards on his 35 kickoffs this season with 13 touchbacks. As a punter, he averaged 39.6 yards per punt, which ranked second in the conference. He unfurled a season-long punt of 63 yards against Susquehanna on Oct. 15. Of his 56 punts, he dropped 14 inside the 20 with just four touchbacks. He forced 19 fair catches and had eight boots of 50 yards or more.

Cummings is the first Bullets player to be named all-conference at two different positions in the same year since Nathan Smith was a first-team defensive back and return specialist in 2005.

Lessel, a senior defensive back, also earned his first all-conference honor after leading the defense with 54 tackles. He had 3.0 tackles for loss to go with two interceptions and five pass breakups. He also returned a fumble 93 yards for a touchdown at Moravian on Sept. 10.

Senior Tommy Megna (Katonah, N.Y./John Jay) was Gettysburg's representative on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Bullets finished the season 1-9 (1-8 CC).
