Gettysburg College Athletics

Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 50th all-time meeting between Gettysburg (4-7, 1-5 CC) and No. 18 Ursinus (7-5, 3-3 CC) in a series that dates back to 1955. The Bears lead the all-time series 43-6 and have won the last two meetings. The last Bullets victory was by a 3-0 score on Sept. 28, 2019.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Ursinus scored a pair of third-quarter goals to register a 3-0 win over Gettysburg last season. Emilia Saccento capped off her rookie season with a season-high 11 saves in goal. Mary Lauren Franz had two assists to lead the Bears. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg controlled play for nearly the entirety of the game but it was three second-half goals that proved the difference in a 3-0 win over McDaniel on Wednesday. Alex Wenz scored her first goal of the season and the third goal of the game. Lora Scarangello made four saves to lead the Green Terror. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

HOME, SWEET HOME: Gettysburg improved to 2-4 at home this season but have scored 10 of their 17 goals this season in those six home contests. The Bullets have been shut out at home just once this season - a 2-0 loss to No. 3 Johns Hopkins. Wednesday was the third time this season that Gettysburg had tallied multiple goals in a home game. It was also the third time this season - second time at home - that the team had put at least three goals on the board.  

LAST TIME OUT: No. 18 Ursinus dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 25 Franklin & Marshall in a shootout on Wednesday. The Diplomats shot first and scored and the Bears responded but that was the only conversion for Ursinus and F&M converted all four of its attempts for a 4-1 win in the shootout. STREAKING: Ursinus has dropped back-to-back conference games, falling 2-0 to Washington last Saturday before the 2-1 shootout loss to the Diplomats on Wednesday. The Bears have been a bit of a streaky team recently. Prior to the two straight loses, Ursinus had won three in a row, including two by one goal. In total, the Bears have had five games decided by one goal, including the shootout loss.
