INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Gettysburg will travel to Babson for the 2023 NCAA Division III women's basketball first and second rounds, beginning on Friday.
The Bullets (21-6) earned an automatic bid into the field of 64 with their fourth Centennial Conference (CC) title, defeating Johns Hopkins 65-52 on Sunday in Baltimore.
Gettysburg is making its 10th NCAA tournament appearance and its fifth straight. The Bullets will take on SUNY New Paltz in Friday's first-round game at 5 p.m. The host Beavers will play Maine Maritime in the second game at 7:30 p.m. The winners will meet in Saturday's second round at 7:15 p.m.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Gettysburg and New Paltz. The Hawks (23-4) earned an at-large bid after falling to SUNY Cortland 57-52 in the SUNYAC championship game on Saturday.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors.
Sophomore
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) leads Gettysburg in scoring at 13.6 points per game and is second in rebounding at 6.3 rebounds per contest. She also leads the team with 52 assists and 38 steals. Freshman
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison), who earned the conference tournament most valuable player honors, is also averaging double figures in the scoring column at 10.7 ppg. She also has 45 assists and 35 steals.
Sophomore
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) leads the team in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and blocked shots (84). Junior Caitlin Priore (Holland, Pa./Germantown Academy) has blocked 58 shots to go with 6.1 rebounds per game.
