LAST TIME OUT: York dropped a 1-0 home game to Ithaca on Sunday. The lone goal in the defensive contest was scored in the 25th minute when Ally Stanton and Sarah Sinnott connected on a centered cross that barely went past the outstretched arms of the Spartan goalie. (Full Recap) (Box Score)
CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR: The Spartans have opened the season with a pair of one-goal defeats at home. Last season, York went 6-2 in games decided by one goal and also had four ties. Teresa Gonzalez has taken over as the starting keeper for the Spartans and recorded 19 saves in the first two games of the year while allowing just three goals but the offense has generated just one goal on 14 shots in the opening 180 minutes of the season.
CENTENNIAL ASSOCIATE?: Four of the first five games on the Spartans' schedule this fall are against Centennial Conference opponents. After dropping a 2-1 decision to Franklin & Marshall in Friday's opener, York travels to Gettysburg tonight before hosting McDaniel on Saturday and heading to Carlisle to take on Dickinson next Wednesday.
