Buy Tickets for Friday's Semifinal at Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg will host one of the two semifinals of 2024 Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball championship tournament on Friday. Game time is 8 p.m.
In the second year of the new six-team format, a change was made to the format this season and the field will be reseeded for the semifinals. The Bullets (22-3, 19-1 CC), who are the No. 2 seed, will host the higher-seeded remaining team while Johns Hopkins (23-2, 19-1 CC), which earned the No. 1 seed after winning a tiebreaking coin flip, will host the lower-seeded remaining team in the other semifinal on Friday at 8 p.m.
In the case of both semifinals, the start time will be no earlier than 8 p.m. or 30 minutes following the conclusion of the men's basketball semifinal at each location.
The first-round matchups will feature third-seeded Dickinson (18-7, 15-5 CC) hosting sixth-seeded Swarthmore (12-13, 10-10 CC) and fourth-seeded Washington (14-11, 11-9 CC) hosting fifth-seeded Ursinus (14-11, 10-10 CC) on Tuesday. Both games will begin at 7 p.m.
The semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship game, which will be played at the site of the highest remaining seed. Game time will be announced following the conclusion of Friday's semifinals.
Tickets will be sold for each round of the CC tournament and will be available soon on the Centennial ticketing homepage. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6 through high school and senior citizens. Children five and under as well as students and staff from conference institutions are free.
The tournament's champion will earn the CC's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division III tournament, slated to begin on Mar. 1. The NCAA field will be announced on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
The Bullets are seeking their fifth conference title and third straight. It is the 20th tournament appearance for Gettysburg and 10th in a row. The Bullets also in search of their 11th NCAA tournament bid.
Sophomore
Alayna Arnolie (Vienna, Va./James Madison) leads Gettysburg in scoring at 15.4 points per game while junior
Mackenzie Szlosek (Holtsville, N.Y./Sachem East) is second in both scoring (13.4 ppg) and rebounding (5.2 rpg). Arnolie is tops on the team with 69 3-pointers and 41 steals while adding 53 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. Szlosek has 52 assists and 29 steals while shooting 49.2 percent from the floor and 44.8 percent from long range with 43 triples.
Sophomore
AB Holsinger (Crozet, Va./Langley) leads the team with 75 assists and is scoring 7.0 points per game. She also has 24 steals and 28 3-pointers. Junior
Shinya Lee (Rochester, N.Y./Holderness Prep School) leads the team in rebounding (7.6 rpg) and blocked shots (47).
