Gettysburg had two individuals compete at the Division III ITA Southeast Regional hosted at Mary Washington.
THE LEADERS

Emma Ward (Falls Church, Va./George Mason) worked her way back to win the championship final in her flight of singles play.
FOR THE FOES
• Erika Badner and Katie Berra both won twice to lead the Flying Dutchmen.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Sarah Guistwite (Carlisle, Pa./Wilson Hill Academy) competed in the championship flight of singles competition. She dropped her opening match in three sets to Shenandoah's Tanea Spruill. Spruill won the first set 6-4 before Guistwite forced the tiebreaker set with a 6-3 win. Spruil won the deciding set, 10-5. In the consolation bracket, Guistwite topped Ella Knox (Catholic) 8-0 before falling to Lucy King (Haverford), 8-3.
• In the Blue 2 flight,
Emma Ward fell to Mary Washington's Sophia Broomall 6-3, 6-2 in the opening round. In the consolation bracket, Ward topped Roanoke's Victoria Rios 8-1 then defeated Salisbury's Elizabeth Coligan 8-1 in the consolation semifinals. Ward then was victorious in the consolation finals 8-5 over Emily Hatseras (Shenandoah).
• Guistwie and Ward also competed in the championship flight of doubles play, falling in the opening round to Carnegie Mellon's Anika Joshi and Anika Hou, 8-3. After winning by default, the duo fell to Rachel Fitzgerald and Abhishree Menon (Haverford), 8-2.
