Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 34th all-time meeting between Gettysburg (7-1, 0-0 CC) and Muhlenberg (5-2, 0-0 CC) in a series that dates back to 1981. The Bullets hold a 18-15 advantage in the all-time series but the Mules have won the last two matchups.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Muhlenberg scored a goal on either side of halftime and withstood fourth-quarter offensive pressure from Gettysburg to notch a 2-1 victory in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams last season. Morgan Cherry scored the lone goal for the Bullets. Erin DiSandro led the Mules with a goal and an assist. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LAST TIME OUT: At first neither team could break the other defense until late in the second quarter when Gettysburg scored two before the half. With a stalemate of a second half, the Bullets finished off a 2-0 over Elizabethtown. Jillian Somers scored the first goal, marking her fourth goal of the season. Alex Wenz scored her first goal of the season. Angelina Giglio-Tos made seven saves in goal for the Blue Jays. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

OPENING STATEMENTS: Gettysburg was chosen 10th in the annual preseason polling of conference coaches. Muhlenberg was chosen seventh. However, just nine points separated the Mules and Bullets in the balloting. Johns Hopkins was the unanimous favorite to win its 10th title.

SHOOTING BLANKS: Gettysburg has shut out its last two opponents. Emilia Saccento has been the backstop of both of those blankings and enters today's conference opener with a 0.96 goals-against average, which ranks second in the conference. The team's 0.96 GAA is 24th in Division III. The Bullets have allowed more than one goal in a game just twice this season - a 2-1 double-overtime loss at Shenandoah and a 4-3 win at Ohio Wesleyan.

LAST TIME OUT: Muhlenberg scored in each quarter in shutting out Vassar 5-0 last Friday in its final tuneup before Centennial Conference play. (Full Recap) (Box Score)
