LANCASTER, Pa. –
Lanie McKenzie (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington), a junior on the Gettysburg women's swim team, has been named Centennial Conference (CC) Women's Swimmer of the Week, for the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
McKenzie led the Bullets to a pair of dual wins over Franklin & Marshall and Scranton over the weekend, recording five victories in six races over the two day.s She led off the 200 medley relay against F&M on Friday, joining
Maya Knoller,
Bramley Hawkins and
Valerie Lawton to post a time of 1:43.95. The time is second all-time in program history, just 0.7 seconds off the program record. Later in the night, she reset the program record in the 100 backstroke with an NCAA B-cut time of 56.47 seconds, which is currently the top time in the event in Division III. She also finished second in the 50 free (24.34 seconds). On Saturday, she claimed individual wins in the 200 free (1:58.52) and 200 breaststroke (2:30.31) while also joining Lawton, Hawkins and
Caitlyn Evans to win the 200 free relay with a time of 1:39.51.
Gettysburg returns to action at No. 12 Carnegie Mellon on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
