THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg finished sixth at the Alvernia PLEX Shootout earning 49 points finishing behind fifth place Elizabethtown (51) and fourth place York (62). The Bullets secured five top-three finishes and an additional two more finishing in the top-five solidifying their place.
THE LEADERS
- Maddon McNicholas (Morgantown, Pa., Twin Valley) finished eighth place in the 3,000 recording a season-best and Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 8:58.22. The CC-qualifying time ranks ninth in program history.
- Jack Regentin (Gettysburg, Pa., Biglerville) placed second in the weight throw with a season-best and CC-qualifying toss of 15.21 meters. He also earned a third place finish in the shot put with a CC-qualifying throw of 14.31 meters.
- Reid Norton (Alexandria, Va., Gonzaga College) came in 15th in the 60-meter hurdles prelims with a season-best and CC-qualifying time of 10.62 seconds however, he did not start in the finals. In addition to this finish Norton came in 14th in the long jump with a leap of 5.49 meters - which was another season-best. He also ran a season-best time of 25.65 seconds to finish 46th in the 200.
- Andres Nunez-Castaneda (Morrisville, Pa., Notre Dame) ran a time of 23.95 seconds earning him a season-best and CC-qualifying 15th place finish.
- Stefano Orlando (Norwalk, Conn., New Canaan) finished 12th in the 60-meter hurdles prelims with a season-best and CC-qualifying time of 10.05 seconds however, he did not start in the finals. He also ran a season-best time of 26.02 seconds to place 53rd in the 200. Orlando also placed 18th in the shot put with a throw of 10.49 meters.
FOR THE FOES
- Dickinson finished first with 108 points followed by West Chester at second with 70.5 and Stevens in third with 68.
THE REST OF THE STORY
- Eli Steel (York, Pa., York Country Day School) leaped into a second place finish in the triple jump with a CC-qualifying jump of 12.55 meters. He also finished 11th in the long jump with a leap of 5.77 meters.
- Liam O'Meara (Ridgewood, N.J., Ridgewood) ended in third place with a CC-qualifying vault of 4.37 meters in the pole vault. Mark Overlander (Marietta, Pa., Donegal) finished right behind him in fourth with a CC-qualifying vault of 4.22 meters.
- Tyler Trout (Chester Springs, Pa., Owen J. Roberts) finished the 60-meter hurdles prelims in fifth place with a CC-qualifying time of 8.91 seconds. He went on to finish sixth in the 60-meter hurdles finals with another CC-qualifying time of 9.03 seconds.
- Joaquin Lalama (Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador, Colegio Americano de Quito) placed seventh in the triple jump with a CC-qualifying leap of 11.37 meters. He also finished 16th in the long jump with a distance of 5.19 meters.
- David Magill (Mamaroneck, N.Y., Rye) ran a CC-qualifying time of 55.01 seconds to finish 15th in the 400. He also placed 51st in the 200 with a season-best time of 25.93 seconds.
- Gianluca LeBlanc (Pipersville, Pa., Palisades) came in 20th in the 200 with a CC-qualifying time of 24.04 seconds. He also ran a CC-qualifying time of 7.41 seconds placing 23rd in the 60-meter prelims however, he did not start in the finals.
THE INSIDE STORY
- LeBlanc, Trey Hunter (Reinholds, Pa., Cocalico), Trout, and Nunez-Castaneda turned in a season-best 4x200 relay time of 1:33.89 finishing second place.
- Nunez-Castaneda, Pat Zoccolillo (New Canaan, Conn., New Canaan), Magill, and Jayden Craig (Westminster, Md., Westminster) finished seventh in the 4x400 relay with a season-best time of 3:40.14.
- Jayden Craig (Westminster, Md., Westminster) competed in the mile placing ninth with a season-best time of 4:40.54.
- Mick Lorenger (Alexandria, Va., Thomas Edison) finished 13th in the 3,000 with a season-best time of 9:15.96. Colin Carpenter (Ridgefield, Conn., Wooster School) finished two places behind (15th) with a season-best time of 9:23.08. Dominic DiLuzio (Chadds Ford, Pa., Garnet Valley) placed a few more behind (19th) with a season-best time of 9:28.94.
- Andrew Ersin (Wynnewood, Pa., Lower Merion) placed 19th in the 5,000 with a season-best time of 17:35.65. Joe Zimbler (Nesconset, N.Y., Smithtown East) finished right behind him in 20th place with a season-best time of 17:46.69. Aidan Martin (Middleburgh, N.Y., Middleburgh) joined them, finishing 26th with a season-best time of 19:49.98.
- Isaac Parks-Gill (Lewistown, Pa., Mifflin County) came in 27th in the mile with a season-best time of 4:56.33
- James Higinbotham (Frederick, Md., Gov. Thomas Johnson) completed the 400 in 1:00.51 marking a season-best time and a 31st place finish. He also finished 60th in the 200 with another season-best time of 27.63 seconds.
- Matthew Kurek (Collegeville, Pa., La Salle College) finished the 3,000 in 35th place earning a season-best time of 10:29.63.
- Pat Zoccolillo (New Canaan, Conn., New Canaan) came in 42nd in the 200 with a time of 25.30 seconds and finished the 60-meter prelims in 44th place with at time of 7.77 seconds however, he did not start in the finals.
