GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Two members of the Gettysburg men's basketball team have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 5 second team, announced recently.
Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./St. Joseph Hammonton) earned his second straight NABC nod while
Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) claimed his first honor.
Stafford was also a second-team D3hoops.com all-region selection after being named first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) and the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Schaller was a first-team All-CC honoree.
A senior guard, Stafford started 28 of 29 games and averaged a team-best 16.4 points per game. A 57.4-percent shooter from the floor, he had a team-high 191 field goals that included 15 triples. He also averaged 5.0 rebounds per game to go with 81 assists, 27 steals and 21 blocked shots. He reached double figures in 25 games, including nine 20-point performances. Stafford was a first-team NABC all-district selection last season.
A senior guard, Schaller started all 29 games and was second on the team in scoring at 16.2 points per game. He had a team-best 53 made 3-pointers and made 111 of 148 free throws. He also led the team with 84 assists and 38 steals. Schaller reached double figures in 24 games, including cracking the 20-point mark 10 times.
The Bullets (21-8, 10-3 CC) earned the No. 3 seed in the CC tournament and advanced to the CC semifinals for the fourth straight year. Gettysburg earned an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament and advanced to the second round.
