THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg took five of the six singles, dropping one doubles, to defeat Penn State Harrisburg.
THE LEADERS
- Harper Wood (Omaha, Neb., Gretna) lost only one game to secure a 6-0, 6-1 win at sixth singles. Kate Alianiello (Fairfield, Conn., Fairfield Ludlowe) also dropped only one winning 6-1, 6-0 at the fifth singles. Wood doubled with Mia Graham taking the third doubles 6-1.
FOR THE FOES
- Breanna DeSantis took the second singles to lead the Lions. Anita Liu and Sarah Shaub also won at second doubles.
THE REST OF THE STORY
- Sarah Guistwite (Carlisle, Pa., Wilson Hill Academy) split the first two sets with Allison Wootton winning in the tiebreaker 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Guistwite and Emma Ward (Falls Church, Va., George Mason)doubled at No. 1 doubles defeating Wootton and DeSantis 6-3. Ward also took third singles 6-1, 6-2 defeating Shaub.
- Eden Levkov (Summit, N.J., Summit) also split at No. 2 singles dropping the third set 6-1. Levkov doubled with Shoshi Dondes (Pikesville, Md., Beth Tfiloh) at second doubles only winning one game giving Penn State Harrisburg the 6-1 win. Dondes took the win at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-4 over Shaub.
