GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Gettysburg women's track and field team were named to the Division III Academic All-District track and field/cross country team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.
Academic All-District honorees are eligible to advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 15.
The following Bullets women's track and field athletes were honored as part of the program:
- Junior Lillian Boudreau (Adams, Mass./Hoosac Valley), an environmental studies major
- Junior Carys Cook (Wimberly, Texas/Laurelton Hall), a psychology major
- Senior Ava Crawford (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven), a Spanish/biology major
- Sophomore Elyse Tancini (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), a sociology major
- Senior Olivia Taylor (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson), a history major
Taylor earned her third straight honor while Cook claimed her second straight recognition.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and must have a mark that ranks in the top 50 of her region in at least one event. Up to five eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
