THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg dropped its first game 5-3 on a Pfeiffer walkoff before staving off a Maryville (Tenn.) rally for a 7-6 victory to split a pair of games on the second day of the NFCA Leadoff Classic.

Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) led the Bullets with three hits and an RBI on the day.

• E.A. Nance led the Falcons with two hits and three RBIs, including the walkoff two-run home run.
• Sydney Dickerson led the Scots with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Audrey Bergan (Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) walked and
Renee Laczkowski was hit by a pitch to start the Pfeiffer game. An
Anika Pelekis (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) single loaded the bases before Bergan scored on a wild pitch.
• Bergan singled with two outs in the second before scoring on a Laczkowski double. Pelekis followed with a single to make it 3-0.
• A bunt single, sacrifice and two-out E.A. Nance double made it 3-1 in the third before a sacrifice fly and Camryn Kamin RBI single tied the game in the bottom of the fifth.
• Landry Stewart led off the home seventh with a bunt single before stealing both second and third before the Nance game-ending homer.
• Sydney Dickerson singled with one out before scoring on a two-out Paige Dickinson double in the first to stake Maryville to a 1-0 lead.
• Bergan and Laczkowski both walked to start the bottom of the first for Gettysburg. After a wild pitch, a
Morgan DeFreitas (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown West) one-out sacrifice fly and
Lily Mader (Las Vegas, Nev./Valley) double put the Bullets in front, 2-1.
• The Scots tied the game in the second with singles from Desiree Nance and Abby Woodard before Gettysburg went back in front in the third when
Lauren Bickler (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) singled home pinch-runner
Abigail Gold (Apex, N.C./Apex) for a 3-2 edge.
• Maryville tied the game at 3-all with a Dickinson double.
• In the bottom the fifth, a
Zoe Brennan (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) RBI single broke up the deadlock before a wild pitch and RBI groundout stretched the lead to 6-3.
• A single and error stretched the led to 7-3 in the sixth before a dropped popup opened the gates for a Scots rally in the top of the seventh. A Dickinson triple made it 7-5 before another error and Kaylee Peyret single made it 7-6 with two outs but a groundout preserved the win.
