The Beirne File: Serving as a team captain…One of the team’s most experienced defensive linemen, having played 31 straight games with six starts…Will compete for a starting position at defensive tackle.

2008: Played in all 10 games and started twice…Finished with 13 tackles and three pass breakups…Also blocked an extra point against Lebanon Valley.

2007: Played in 11 games while starting four at defensive tackle...Dished out a career-high five hits at Juniata...Had four tackles at Muhlenberg... Scooped up his second career fumble recovery and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown against McDaniel.

2006: Appeared in all 10 games…Recorded a dozen tackles, including three for a loss...Notched first career sack against Ursinus...Had a season-high four tackles against Johns Hopkins.

High School: An all-conference, all-county, and all-state selection at Atlantic City High School, where he served as captain and also participated in indoor and outdoor track and field… Earned several academic awards including being named to the National Honor Society.

Personal: Born Nov. 23, 1987..Son of Charlie and Debbie Beirne...A management major.
