Gettysburg College Athletics

Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 56th all-time meeting between Gettysburg (8-3, 1-2 CC) and Franklin & Marshall (6-4, 3-0 CC) in a series that dates back to 1973. The Diplomats hold a 30-22-3 advantage in the all-time series and have won 11 of the last 12 matchups. The lone Bullet win during the stretch was a 2-1 victory on Sept. 29, 2021 in Lancaster.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Franklin & Marshall made a second-quarter goal stand up as the only tally of the game for a 1-0 victory over Gettysburg last season. Emilia Saccento made 10 saves in goal for the Bullets. Sophie Carroll contributed the only score of the day for the Diplomats. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LAST TIME OUT: Haverford broke a 1-all deadlock with a fourth-quarter tally to defeat Gettysburg 2-1 on Saturday. Jillian Somers scored the lone goal for the Bullets. Amy Kim scored the game-winner for the Fords. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

KEEPING IT CLOSE: Gettysburg has played six one-goal games in 11 outings this season. The Bullets are now 3-3 in such games after dropping a pair of one-goal games last week in two road conference tilts. All three one-goal wins for Gettysburg have come in overtime. In total, the Bullets have needed extra time in four contests this season. 

LAST TIME OUT: Franklin & Marshall earned a hard-fought upset-victory over No. 10 Bryn Mawr 1-0 on Saturday. It marked F&M's first over a top-10 ranked opponent since defeating No. 1 TCNJ and No. 5 Johns Hopkins during the Diplomats' run to an NCAA National Championship appearance in 2019. GETTING DEFENSIVE: Since starting the season 1-4, Franklin & Marshall has won five games in a row and have allowed just two goals in that stretch, posting four shutouts. The Diplomats have won two of their first three conference games by a 1-0 score, winning at Washington in the opener on Sept. 28 before topping Bryn Mawr last Saturday. Megan Dole has backstopped the defense with a 1.19 goals-against average and .804 save percentage. She has four individual shutouts this season.
