THE SKINNY STORY
Swarthmore, ranked 11th in the CSCAA coaches' poll, won 13 of the 14 events to sweep the season-opening conference quad, including defeating No. 21 Gettysburg, 187-74. The Bullets recorded commanding wins over Bryn Mawr (217-44) and McDaniel (219-33).
THE LEADERS
• Mia Yancey (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) won the lone event for the Bullets, touching first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.29.
FOR THE FOES
• Quinn Weygandt won the 500 free (10:43.18) and the 200 IM (2:09.97) while finishing second in the 200 free to Yancey with a time of 1:56.50.
• Elle Anthony won the 50 free (24.24 seconds) and 100 free (52.51). Anthony and Weygandt were also both part of the winning 400 free relay (3:36.36).
• Maya Ambardekar swept the backstroke races in her first collegiate action, taking the 100 in a time of 58.85 seconds and the 200 in a time of 2:08.10. Sophie Rotival, meanwhile, swept the breaststroke events and Annaliese Chen took both butterfly events. Ambardekar and Rotival joined Ainsley Tambling and Anthony on the 200 medley relay that won in a time of 1:47.22.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Mia Morreale (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn), Maya Knoller (Bernardsville, N.J./Newark Academy), Kristen Racicot (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) and Mia Yancey were second in the 200 medley relay, opening the season with a time of 1:49.83.
• Ava Berry (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) and Caitlin Evans (Belford, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) went 2-3 in the 1000 free with time of 10:50.93 and 11:08.21, respectively. Berry was also second in the 500 free (5:18.24).
• Olivia Pyott (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) and Knoller were second (1:07.34) and third (1:07.76), respectively, in the 100 breaststroke. Pyott was also second in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.97).
• Yancey added a second-place finish in both the 100 free (52.51) 200 IM (2:11.58).
• Ava Collin (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga), Knoller, Delaney Reck (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) and Olivia Evans (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Egg Harbor Twp.) were third in the 400 free relay (3:44.71).
THE INSIDE STORY
• In total, four individual recorded multiple wins on the night, including a three-win outing from Natalie Wisniewski and Mia Yancey.
• The Bullets had two of the top three finishers in all 11 events and the top three in two.
