THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 18th, had its final dual meet of the season, competing in a rare two-session dual meet at No. 15 Swarthmore. The Garnet closed out a perfect dual record with a 206-109 win.
THE LEADERS
•
Mia Morreale (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) led the Bullets with two individual wins, winning the 200 free (1:51.75) on Friday and the 200 backstroke (2:03.83) on Saturday.
•
Bramley Hawkins (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) added a victory in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.37 seconds.
FOR THE FOES
• Quinn Weygandt led the Garnet with victories in the 200 IM (2:03.99), 400 IM (4:20.85), 200 fly (2:03.74) and as part of the 400 free relay (3:26.76).
FRIDAY'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Gettysburg bookended the opening session on Friday night with second-place finishes in both relays. The 400 medley relay of
Lanie McKenzie (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington),
Maya Knoller (Bernardsville, N.J./Newark Academy),
Bramley Hawkins and
Delaney Reck (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) posted the No. 8 time in program history, combining for a time of 3:52.61. The 200 free relay of
Mia Morreale,
Valerie Lawton (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury), Reck and Knoller turned in the No. 9 time in program history with a mark of 1:35.42.
• Morreale and Lawton went 1-3 in the 200 free. Morreale just missed her season-best time, winning with a time of 1:51.75 while Lawton came to the wall in a time of 1:55.14.
• McKenzie was fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.00. In the 400 IM,
Ava Berry (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) was second with a season-best time of 4:33.51 while
Emma Anderson (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) placed fourth with a time of 4:33.47.
• Gettysburg swimmers were first to the wall in four of the time trials – Hawkins (50 free, 24.51 seconds), Reck (100 back, 58.42),
Grace Tyler (North Granby, Conn./Westminster School) (500 free, 5:12.41) and
Kristen Racicot (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) (100 breast, 1:08.63).
SATURDAY'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Berry opened Saturday with a second-place finish in the 1650 free with a time of 17:26.30.
• Both relays finished second for Gettysburg. The 200 medley relay of Morreale, Knoller, Hawkins and Lawton posted a time of 1:44.69 for the No. 6 time in program history while the 400 free relay of Morreale, Reck, McKenzie and Lawton had a time of 3:30.58 for the No. 5 all-time mark.
• Morreale and McKenzie went 2-3 in the 100 back with time of 57.26 and 57.76, respectively. Morreale later won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.83 while McKenzie was fourth (2:09.22).
• In the 200 butterfly, Hawkins finished second with a time of 2:08.83, which ranks sixth in program history, while Racicot was third with a time of 2:09.42 and
Maggie Sedlak (Darien, Conn./Darien) was fourth (2:09.43).
• Lawton touched second in the 50 free (23.87 seconds) while Reck was fourth (24.26) before the same pair went third (52.49) and fifth (52.88) in the 100 free.
•
Caitlyn Evans (Belford, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) finished third in the 500 free (5:11.85) while Berry touched fourth (5:12.12).
• Hawkins rounded out the individual events with a win in the 100 fly, touching with a time of 57.37.
• Evans was first to the wall in the 200 free time trial with a time of 1:56.69. Anderson did the same a 200 IM time trial with a time of 2:16.16.
