THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had 17 entries into the A-Finals over the course of the three-day Phoenix Invitational hosed by the University of Chicago. The Bullets placed third as a team in the field of seven teams, registering 699 points.
THE LEADERS
•
Ava Berry (Raleigh, N.C./Sanderson) turned in a program-record time of 4:29.44 in the prelims of the 400 IM, shattering the previous mark by more than three seconds.
•
Mia Morreale (Short Hills, N.J./Millburn) had one of two individual bronze medals for the Bullets, finishing third with a program-record time of 2:04.76 in the 200 backstroke.
FOR THE FOES
• New York University won the team title with 1600.5 points while Chicago was second with 1209 points.
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS:

Ava Collin (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga),
Maya Knoller (Bernardsville, N.J./Newark Academy),
Mia Morreale and
Mia Yancey (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) opened the finals session with a third-place showing in the 200 free relay. The quartet turned in an NCAA B-Cut time of 1:34.36, which is the third fastest relay time in program history.
Delaney Reck (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington),
Caitlyn Evans (Belford, N.J./Red Bank Catholic),
Olivia Evans (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Egg Harbor Twp.) and
Lanie McKenzie (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) were sixth in the same relay with a time of 1:37.11.
• In the finals of the 500 freestyle,
Ava Berry shaved more than nine seconds off her morning prelim time to win the B-Final with a time of 5:02.18, which ranks second in program history. Berry qualified 14th before placing 11th overall and was the first of four Bullets in the B-Finals.
Caitlyn Evans was 15th with a time of 5:08.21, improving five seconds from her prelims time for the eighth-ranked time in program history.
Maggie Sedlak (Darien, Conn./Darien) finished 16th (5:12.42) while
Paige McKim (Robesonia, Pa./The King's Academy) was 19th (5:15.26).
• Yancey led a trio of Gettysburg swimmers in the A-Finals of the 200 IM. She was fifth in the prelims before improving to place fourth in the finals with a time of 2:06.14. Morreale placed seventh with a time of 2:07.12 while McKenzie placed ninth with a time of 2:07.81 to move into third place in program history.
• Knoller was eighth of the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.93 seconds after qualifying 10th with a time of 24.10 and making the A-Finals by 0.03 seconds. Collin turned in the No. 6 time in program history, finishing 12th with a time of 24.05 seconds. Reck finished 19th (24.77).
• McKenzie,
Olivia Pyott (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.),
Kristen Racicot (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) and Collin combined to place sixth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:53.57, which is sixth in program history. The B-relay of Morreale, Knoller,
Lindsay Blake (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) placed 10th with a time of 3:56.20.
SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS:

Mia Morreale,
Maya Knoller,
Kristen Racicot and
Mia Yancey opened Saturday night's session with a sixth-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:46.36.
Audrey Csokmay (Potomac, Md./Richard Montgomery),
Olivia Pyott,
Lanie McKenzie and
Olivia Evans were right behind their teammates with a time of 1:46.68. The two relays rank seventh and ninth, respectively, all-time in program history.

Ava Berry dropped a program-record time of 4:29.44 in the morning prelims with a time of 4:29.44 to qualify third for the A-Finals, missing the B-Cut time by 0.04 seconds. In the finals, she finished sixth with a time of 4:32.78.
Emma Anderson (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) was also in the A-Finals, finishing 10th with a time of 4:40.81. Her time of 4:35.44 in the prelims ranks eighth all-time.
Caitlyn Evans won the B-Final with a time of 4:35.15, which ranks sixth all-time.
Gracie Spataro (Darien, Conn./Darien) finished 14th with a time of 4:58.42.
• Racicot led a trio of Gettysburg swimmers in the B-Finals of the 100 butterfly. She finished 13th with a time of 58.10 seconds after posting a time of 58.08 in the prelims, which ranks eighth in program history.
Maggie Sedlak was 15th (59.39) while
Lindsay Blake placed 18th (1:01.39).
• Yancey placed 10th in the A-Finals of the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.01.
Ava Collin (16th, 1:56.22) and
Olivia Evans (18th, 1:57.79) were in the B-Finals for the Bullets.
• Knoller and Pyott finished third (1:05.51) and fourth (1:05.55), respectively, in the A-Finals of the 100 breaststroke. Racicot and
Morgan Saunders (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) qualified for the B-Finals, placing 15th (1:08.95) and 16th (1:09.45), respectively.
• Morreale qualified fourth for the A-Finals of the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.38 seconds before placing sixth in the finals with a time of 57.67. McKenzie, Blake, Reck and Csokmay were all in the B-Finals. McKenzei was 14th (59.30), Blake was 15th (59.84), Reck was 16th (59.98) and Csokmay was 18th (1:00.43).
• The A and B 800 free relay teams placed fifth and sixth. Berry, Yancey, McKenzie and Collin combined for a time of 7:53.35 while Sedlak, Anderson,
Caitlyn Evans and
Grace Tyler (North Granby, Mass./Westminster School) had a time of 7:56.98.
SUNDAY HIGHLIGHTS:
•
Ava Berry rounded out her weekend with a seventh-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle. Her time of 17:33.75 ranks fifth in program history.
Caitlyn Evans finished 10th in the event with a time of 18:03.15 while
Paige McKim was right behind her in 11th with a time of 18:05.30. Grace Taylor placed 13th with a time of 19:11.94.

Mia Morreale gave the Bullets a second program record on the weekend, placing third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.76, knocking seven seconds off her previous best.
Lanie McKenzie and
Lindsay Blake also qualified for the A-Finals with Morreale. McKenzie placed eighth with a time of 2:09.12 while Blake was 10th with a time of 2:10.85.
Audrey Csokmay finished 13th with a time of 2:12.40.

Mia Yancey and
Ava Collin placed sixth (51.69 seconds) and seventh (52.34), respectively, in the A-Finals of the 100 freestyle.
Maya Knoller finished 13th in a time of 53.10.

Olivia Pyott swam to a sixth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:21.87.
Emma Anderson placed 16th (2:28.00) and
Morgan Saunders was 20th (2:34.50).

Maggie Sedlak and
Kristen Racicot qualified for the A-Finals in the 200 butterfly. Sedlak touched fifth in a time of 2:08.91 and Racicot placed eighth with a time of 2:09.27, which is sixth in program history.
Gracie Spataro placed 12th with a time of 2:15.25.
• The 400 freestyle relay of Yancey, Morreale, Knoller and Collin rounded out the weekend with a sixth-place finish with a time of 3:31.03, which ranks sixth in program history.
