GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Two members of the Gettysburg volleyball team were named to the Division III Academic All-District volleyball team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), announced on Tuesday.

Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 14.

The following Bullets volleyball players were honored as part of the program:

• Sophomore Gianna Galli (Demarest, N.J./Northern Valley Demarest), a business, organizations and management/Spanish major
• Junior Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck), a biochemistry and molecular biology major

Huegel earned her second straight honor after also being selected as a sophomore.

To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to four eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
