THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had a pair of top-four finishers to finish ninth at the annual Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah. The Bullets scored 70.5 points.
THE LEADERS

Ethan Composto (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) led the Bullets with an individual title at 149. He started the weekend with back-to-back technical falls to advance to the quarterfinals. He downed Greensboro's Quadir Medley 19-2 in the first round and Messiah's Jacob Cunningham 17-2 in the second round. The run of technical falls continued in the quarterfinals with a 17-1 win over St. Vincent's Anthony Orlandini. On Saturday morning, Composto recorded a fourth technical fall in the semifinals, advancing to the title match with a 22-6 win over Messiah's Dalton Monger. He then knocked off the Falcons' Levi Snyder 12-7 in the championship bout.

Justin Richey (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) finished fourth at 165. His weekend opened with a 4-minute, 6-second pin of Muhlenberg's Logan Hurwitt. He then added a 19-3 technical fall over King's Alex Ballantyne. In the quarterfinals, Richey downed Ryan Lepore (Alvernia) by major decision, 14-4. On Saturday, Richey dropped a 10-2 major decision to Kegan Demarest (Messiah) in the semifinals. Lapore then exacted revenge in the third-place bout, edging Richey, 7-3.

• Springfield won the 15-team invitational with 180 points, edging Messiah by four points.

Kyle Collins (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) went 4-2 at 133. He opened the weekend with a 4-1 win over Kaden Casey (Misericordia) in the prelims. He then added a pin of Averett's Mace Jones midway through the second period. Tyler David (Adrian) dropped Collins to the consolation bracket with a 15-0 technical fall. Collins notched a 1-minute, 19-second fall and 10-5 win in the consolation bracket before falling 12-5 to Adrain's Ali Jaber.

Brendan Callahan (Woolrich Twp., N.J./Kingsway Regional) went 3-2 at 141. He opened Friday with an 8-0 major decision win over Averett's Wyatt Parker before dropping a 4-1 decision to Bridgewater State's Malcolm Chrispin. In the consolation bracket, Callahan notched an 8-6 win and 19-0 technical fall over a pair of opponents from Adrian. Muhlenberg's Andrew Loniewski ended Callahan's weekend a round shy of advancing to Saturday with a 7-1 decision.

Danny Carrozza (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) went 2-2 at 141. His Friday started with a pin of Averett's Joseph Naef midway through the second period before Josh Wilson (Greensboro) relegated Carrozza to the consolation bracket with a 22-6 technical fall. In the consolation bracket, Carrozza won by major decision 12-0 and dropped a 10-1 major decision.

Andrew Fabian (Budapest, Hungary/Moricz Zsigmond Gimnazium) also went 2-2 on Friday. His day at 149 started with a technical fall over Kyle Haverstick (Lycoming), 17-2. After falling to the consolation bracket by way of a 9-5 decision, Fabian pinned Greensboro's Quadir Medley in 6:30 but then his day ended with a 4-1 loss to Averett's Andres Cortes.

Ryan Gallagher (Fountainville, Pa./Pennridge) went 2-2 at 174 with a pair of pins. He day started with a 47-second fall of Drake Rorabacher (Adrian) before falling to William Knapp (Alvernia), 14-9. In the consolation bracket, he pinned Drake Hurley in 2:39 before Michael Hopkins (Bridgewater State) topped Gallagher by major decision, 10-0.

Simon Taylor (Alexandria, Va./Woodbury Forest School) recorded two wins to start his Friday at heavyweight. He recorded a 22-5 technical fall over Scott Smith (Adrian) and 6-minute, 46-second fall over Owen Reber (Alvernia) before falling in the quarterfinals to Benjamin Katz (Springfield) late in the first period. Michael Sipps (Lycoming) then edged Simon in the consolation bracket, 4-2.

Kobe McHugh-Moore (Harrisburg, Pa./Camp Hill) opened his day at 174 with an 8-0 loss to Michael Gabbard (Averett) before winning twice in the consolation bracket. He pinned Alvernia's James Moffat in 1:25 before downing Adrian's Noah Risner by technical fall, 17-1. Nick Costello (King's) then pinned McHugh-Moore in 1:01.

Justin Musmanno (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) opened his day at 141 with a 1-minute, 25-second fall before falling twice by way of technical fall.

Ean Wilson (Gardners, Pa./Boiling Springs) added a win in the consolation bracket at 157. He was pinned by Messiah's Noah Rice in 4:50 before notching a 25-8 technical fall of Garret Landon (Thaddeus Stevens). Wilson then dropped an 11-8 decision to Mikey Hollar (Messiah).

Sam Gouveia (Summit, N.J./Summit) went 1-2 at 174 with three match terminations. Dylan Weaver (Shenandoah) won by technical fall 17-0 before Gouveia pinned Taalib-Din Grier (Greensboro) in 2:39 in the consolation bracket. Gabbard then bookended Gouveia's day with another technical fall by a 16-0 score.

Maximillion Ferguson (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills East) recorded a 13-8 decision over Hayden Garland (Bridgewater State) in the consolation bracket at 197 around a pair of match termination losses.
