SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently released its list of individuals to Scholar All-America Teams for the 2023-24 semester and Gettysburg had five earn the honor.
For the women, rising junior
Bramley Hawkins (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill), rising sophomore
Delaney Reck (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington), recent graduate
Natalie Wisniewski (Summit, N.J./Summit) and rising senior
Olivia Pyott (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Twp.) were honored while the men were represented by recent graduate
Declan Sheeran (McLean, Va./McLean). Hawkins, Reck and Wisniewski were first-team honorees while Pyott and Sheeran were second-team nods.
Hawkins competed in a pair of relays at the NCAA Div. III championship. She was part of the 200 medley and 400 medley relays.
Reck was part of three relays. In addition to swimming on the 400 medley relay, she was part of the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays that both earned All-America status.
Wisniewski was part of the 200 medley and 400 medley relays as well as the 800 freestyle relay at the NCAA championship meet.
Pyott's B-Cut time came in the 200 breaststroke came in a dual meet against Johns Hopkins on Nov. 18. She posted a time of 2:20.84.
Sheeran's B-Cut time came in a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke at the CC Championship with his time of 2:00.80.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship. In total, more than 2,000 swimmers and divers across all divisions were honored.
