Gettysburg increased the margin of victory in each set, recording a 3-0 win at McDaniel.
THE LEADERS

Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) led the Bullets with seven kills and no errors, hitting .389, while adding a team-high eight digs.
•
Mary Huegel (Marlboro, N.J./Colts Neck) paced a balanced attack with nine kills to go with three blocks.
FOR THE FOES
• Kailey Young led the Green Terror with 10 kills and three blocks.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Tied at 2-all in the opening set,
Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard Academy) knocked down a kill to start a 4-0 run that built a 6-2 advantage.
Erin Gonzalez and
Mary Huegel later combined on a block before each on a kill to cap another 4-0 burst that stretched the lead to 11-5. Gettysburg added one more run of four straight points to extend the advantage to 10 at 22-12 en route to a 25-17 victory.
• McDaniel took an early 6-4 edge in the second set but
Emma Bradshaw (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) started a 4-0 run that turned the two-point deficit into a two-point lead. Aces from
Reece Benner (Royersford, Pa./Pope John Paul II) and Huegel keyed a 10-2 finish to set, turning a 15-11 edge into a 25-13 victory and 2-0 lead in the match.
• Kills from Gonzalez and Huegel around a
Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) ace helped open up a 9-6 advantage in the third set. Holding the same margin at 11-8, Gettysburg finished the set on a 14-1 run to complete the sweep, 25-9.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg hit .352 as a team for the match. All six hitters had no fewer than four kills.
Alycen Radolovic (Willoughby, Ohio/Beaumont School) contributed eight while
Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) had six.
Emma Bradshaw and
Ellen Manke added five and four, respectively.
