Gettysburg’s Suter earns first-team All-America honors

NORMAN, Okla. – Daniel Suter (Gaithersburg, Md./Milton Academy), a senior on the Gettysburg men's golf team, has been named a Division III PING First-Team All-American, announced by the Golf Coaches' Association of American on Friday.

Suter becomes the first player in Gettysburg and Centennial Conference (CC) history to earn first-team All-America honors. He is the third different Bullets to be named an All-American in program history.

He wrapped up his collegiate career with a three-under par round of 69 at the national championship to finish 20th in the field with a 72-hole score of 295. Suter posted a program-record 71.36 stroke average over 28 rounds this season. He recorded four tournament wins in 12 events and finished in the top five individually 10 times this season. He fired rounds of par or better in more than 57 percent of his rounds this season, posting 16 rounds of par or better that included a seven-under-par at Bethpage Blue. He posted a round of 65 on the par-70 Sammons Park Golf Course at the UMBH Invitational this fall.

Over his career, he posted a program-record 73.06 stroke average over 84 career rounds with seven career wins and 27 top-10 finishes in 41 events.

Eight players were named to the PING All-America first team.

The Bullets, who won the CC championship, finished the season tied for 11th at the NCAA Div. III national championship with a 72-hole score of 1,199. As a team, Gettysburg averaged 293.7 as a team over 28 rounds this season.
