BALTIMORE, Md. – Three members of the Gettysburg men's lacrosse have been named Division III Preseason All-Americans by USA Lacrosse Magazine, released on Tuesday.

Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School [Conn.]), Murphy Hoey (Fairfield, Conn./Berkshire School [Mass.]) and Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) claimed honorable mention preseason accolades. Hedley and Kessler were first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) while Hoey was an honorable mention all-conference honoree a year ago.

Hedley, a senior long-stick midfielder, was a preseason nod for the second straight year. A two-time first-team all-conference selection, he was also tabbed an honorable mention All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine and third-team by USILA last spring. Playing all 20 games with six starts, he picked up a team-high 62 ground balls and was second on the team with 26 caused turnovers. The long-pole also contributed eight goals and six assists to the offense. At Washington and Lee on Mar. 8, he recorded two goals and an assist. He had four games with five or more ground balls.

Kessler, a senior midfielder, was a first-team all-conference selection a year ago and honorable mention All-American by USILA. He has appeared in all 20 games with 14 starts. He ranked third on the team with 31 goals and 43 points. He had a team-best five game-winning goals and tallied four man-up goals. He recorded four goals at Franklin & Marshall on Apr. 26, including the overtime game-winner.

Hoey, a junior goalie, was an honorable mention all-conference honoree. Starting all 20 games in goal, he logged 1110 minutes with a 9.88 goals-against average. He made 190 saves, posting a .509 save percentage. He made double-digit saves in 10 games, including all three NCAA tournament games last spring.

The Bullets, ranked ninth in the USA Lacrosse preseason poll, open the season against Christopher Newport at Severn School on Saturday, Feb. 14. Game time is 1 p.m.
