LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Two members of the Gettysburg men's lacrosse team have been named Division III Preseason All-Americans by the United State Intercollege Lacrosse Association (USILA), released on Friday.

Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School [Conn.]) was a second-team preseason honoree while Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) claimed third-team preseason accolades. Both Hedley and Kessler were first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) a year ago and recently earned honorable mention preseason All-America nods from USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Hedley, a senior long-stick midfielder, is a preseason nod for the second straight year. A two-time first-team all-conference selection, he was also tabbed an honorable mention All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine and third-team by USILA last spring.
Playing all 20 games with six starts, he picked up a team-high 62 ground balls and was second on the team with 26 caused turnovers. The long-pole also contributed eight goals and six assists to the offense. At Washington and Lee on Mar. 8, he recorded two goals and an assist. He had four games with five or more ground balls.

Kessler, a senior midfielder, was a first-team all-conference selection a year ago and honorable mention All-American by USILA. He has appeared in all 20 games with 14 starts. He ranked third on the team with 31 goals and 43 points. He had a team-best five game-winning goals and tallied four man-up goals. He recorded four goals at Franklin & Marshall on Apr. 26, including the overtime game-winner.

The Bullets, ranked ninth in both the USA Lacrosse and USILA preseason polls and eighth by Inside Lacrosse, open the season against Christopher Newport, ranked third in the preseason by USILA and Inside Lacrosse and second by USA Lacrosse Magazine, at Severn School on Saturday, Feb. 14. Game time is 1 p.m.
