LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Gettysburg continued its rise in National Fastpitch Coaches' Association (NFCA)/GoRout Div. III poll for the third straight week, climbing to 17th when the latest poll was released on Tuesday.
The Bullets (16-3) have their highest national ranking in program history and are a top-20 team for first time. It is also the highest ranking for any Centennial Conference team in the last 20 years of the coaches' poll.
Audrey Bergan (Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) leads the offense with a .476 batting average, pacing Gettysburg with 30 hits, 18 runs and 10 walks. She has a team-best .548 on-base percentage to go with three doubles, two triples and seven RBIs.
Jamie Shaw (Mount Airy, Md./Glenelg) is hitting .355 with 22 hits.
Renee Laczkowski (Erie, Colo./Erie) has provided the power in the lineup with three home runs and two doubles among her 12 hits. She has driven in a team-high 19 runs.
Paige Forry (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) leads the pitching staff with a 12-2 record and four shutouts among her 10 complete games. She has posted a 0.78 earned-run average and 82 strikeouts in 80.2 innings. She has walked just 14 and opponents are hitting .183 off her. She also has one save.
The Bullets return to action at home against Lebanon Valley on Thursday. The first game of the doubleheader begins at 3 p.m.
