Every softball player that dons the Orange and Blue chases one person in the record book: Mandy Wilson.
Â
From 1999 to 2002, Wilson put together a record-shattering career on the diamond. She was a four-time All-Centennial Conference selection, earning first-team status in 1999, 2001, and 2002. The third baseman burst onto the scene as a freshman, breaking program standards for runs, triples, home runs, and RBI, while helping Gettysburg win the conference title and advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time.
Â
The records continued to fall in Wilson’s final seasons. In 2001, she was Gettysburg’s first CC Player of the Year after hitting .491 and stealing 21 bases and she repeated as CC Player of the Year during her senior campaign. She closed her career holding an astonishing 35 school records, including career marks for batting average (.432), runs (141), triples (26), home runs (13), RBI (120), and stolen bases (61).
Â
Wilson also lettered in basketball in each of her first three seasons at Gettysburg. She led the team in steals and assists in each of her first two campaigns and she closed her career among the top 10 all-time in steals.
Â
A native of McClure, Pa., Wilson graduated from Gettysburg summa cum laude with a degree in health and exercise science.
