Hall of Athletic Honor
He came to Gettysburg by way of Harrisburg (Pa.) Tech which had just won the national high school football championship.
He proved himself equal to his reputation. He played 60 minutes as an end proving equally strong as a pass receiver and a defensive player. He was also an excellent punter and place kicker. Twice he was named to the All-State team and twice was elected captain by his teammates. He played forward on the basketball team and during four years of baseball, played the outfield, second base and pitched. He was known primarily as a devastating homerun hitter.
He was elected president of the Freshman Class and president of the student body his senior year. "Snaps" passed away on August 8, 1944.
