Hall of Athletic Honor
During the 1978 Middle Atlantic Conference Track championships he gave one of the most memorable performances in school and conference history. He ran eight sprints in two days, guiding Gettysburg to a second place behind powerful Widener. He won the 440 in 48:27, the 220 in 21:87; anchored the second place 440 relay team; and was named the conference's ourtstanding athlete.
Over the four years he became a five-time NCAA Division III All-America. Twice he anchored the winning Pop Haddleton mile relay at the Penn Relays and twice placed in the top three. He anchored the winning 440 relay at the Penn Relays. He won the MAC indoor 600 title and was a member of the winning mile relay team in 3:17.5.
He went on to set the indoor school and conference record for the 440 relay in 41.8 and the mile relay in 3:16.7 as a senior.
His school records which withstood the test of time were the 440 in 47.77; 400 relay in 41.93; and the 1600 relay in 3:14.07.
