Hall of Athletic Honor
He came out of Harrisburg's Harrisburg Tech High School to become an outstanding end on the Gettysburg football team. He was a 60-minute player. Few matched him in the art of breaking up interference, tackling hard and handling forward passes. Running backs enjoyed getting behind him because of his ability to run interference.
He became Gettysburg's first professional athlete, playing for Massillon. He and Knute Rockne formed the starting ends for the world champion Tigers, who defeated Canton, a team led by Jim Thorpe.
