Wes Bartlett raised the level of play for the tennis program and helped usher the team into a new conference in the 1990s.
Â
Bartlett wasted no time establishing himself as one of the top players on the team, rising to the third position in the singles lineup and posting a 16-2 record as a freshman. In 1992, he rose to the top of the lineup and went unbeaten in dual competition (14-0), while setting a program record with 17 wins in singles competition.
Â
At the top of both singles and doubles lineups, Bartlett racked up 51 total victories in his final two campaigns at Gettysburg. He went 15-2 in 1993 and added 16 more singles wins to his resume in 1994. As a senior, Bartlett captured the singles title at the Trenton State Lions Invitational and he teamed with Dave Korman to win the ITA/Rolex Eastern Regional doubles championship, qualifying the duo for the ITA National Championship. Bartlett was named All-Centennial Conference Second Team at the conclusion of his senior campaign.
Â
Bartlett ended his career as the program’s single-season record holder for singles wins (17), doubles wins (14), and total wins (31) and the career leader in total wins (107) and singles wins (65).

A native of Montville, N.J., Bartlett graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in history.
