Jumping off the end of a one-meter or three-meter diving board, Musselman was one of the most athletic and graceful Gettysburg has ever seen. He was a four-year letterwinner, was named to the All-America team in 1975, held two school records and is the first diver inducted into the Hall of Athletic Honor.
He competed in the NCAA meets in 1975 and 1976, earning 11th place on the three-meter board and 21st on the one-meter board as a junior. The following year, he placed 19th on the three-meter board and 12th on the one-meter board.
Over the course of his career, Musselman broke the Gettysburg one-meter record four times and twice bettered the three-meter mark. He held the three-meter record for six years and the one-meter mark for five years. As a junior, he set the conference record on the one-meter board with 382 points.
His dominance as a diver is best demonstrated by the fact he placed first in 72 meets, was second 21 times and came in third six times during his collegiate career.
A native of Reading, Pa., Musselman graduated from Gettysburg in 1976 with a degree in biology and health & physical education.
