Kelly Geise helped usher Gettysburg into a new era of competition on the basketball court.

The six-foot center with the lefty touch was a dominant force under the hoop for the Bullets. Geise came into the fold as Gettysburg was transitioning from the Middle Atlantic Conference to the Centennial Conference. In her two years in the MAC, Geise emerged as a team leader, pacing the Bullets in both scoring and rebounding as a sophomore.

Gettysburg began its membership in the Centennial Conference in 1993 and Geise quickly established herself as one of the new league’s top players. In 1993-94, Geise was named all-league second team after averaging a career-high 16.2 points per game. During her senior season, Gettysburg reached new heights as Geise helped power her team to 20 wins and an appearance in the NCAA Division III playoffs. Geise nearly averaged a double-double en route to All-CC First Team accolades. In the NCAA opener, she scored 16 points and grabbed a dozen boards as the Bullets knocked off Scranton, the top team in the region.

Geise finished her tenure at Gettysburg as the program’s all-time leader with 875 rebounds. She also finished second in scoring with 1,342 career points.

A native of Sunbury, Pa., Geise graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in management.
