Matt McKenna turned in an outstanding career in the pool as Gettysburg transitioned from the Middle Atlantic Conference to the Centennial Conference.

After helping the Bullets win the MAC title as a freshman, the backstroke specialist captured Most Outstanding Performer accolades at the conference championship in 1993. He won six events and set a MAC record in the 100 back.

In the Bullets first campaign as a member of the Centennial Conference, McKenna claimed Most Outstanding Performer recognition after winning six conference titles. He led his team to the inaugural CC championship and went on to earn his first All-America certificate in the 100 back.

Gettysburg claimed its fourth conference title in as many tries in McKenna’s final campaign, with the senior adding six more titles to his resume. In his final trip to the national stage, McKenna became the first Bullet to claim All-America First Team as an individual competitor with a seventh-place finish in the 100 back.

A native of Morristown, N.J., McKenna graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in sociology.
