Gettysburg afforded Lauren Frankford the opportunity to pursue her passion in two sports and the Bullets thrived under her leadership and drive.
Â
During the fall, Frankford patrolled the backfield for the women’s soccer team and led the program to three consecutive trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament from 1997-99 and back-to-back Centennial Conference championships in 1998 and 1999.
Â
A three-time all-conference first-team honoree and three-time all-region selection, she anchored a defense that tied the school record with 10 shutouts and posted a goals against average of 0.86 in 1998. Frankford was named a second-team All-American as a junior and rose to first-team honors in 1999 after guiding the Bullets to the league title and a trip to the national playoffs.
Â
Defensively, Frankford helped Gettysburg rack up 31 shutouts in 77 matches. She was a force offensively as well, tallying 34 career points.
Â
On the basketball court, Frankford was a three-year letterwinner as a forward and helped the Bullets to a trio of winning seasons, including a 17-8 overall record in 1997-98. She appeared in 67 games and totaled 381 points, 203 rebounds, and 63 steals.
A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Frankford graduated from Gettysburg with a degree in health and exercise science.
