Hall of Athletic Honor
After a year of freshman competition, he immediately found his niche on the varsity level his sophomore season. He was the starting center halfback on the soccer team for three years. As a junior he contributed to the most successful team in the history of the school. The record was 9-1-2 that year. As a senior, he was recognized four times as the best player on the field by opposing coaches. He was named to the All-Conference team and twice was nominated for All-America honors.
As a swimmer there was no equal. He competed in the 220 and 440-freestyle as well as the 100 and 440-freestyle relay. During the regular season of his collegiate career, he won 53 events and lost only 11. In 1956 he was on the winning 400-freestyle relay team which beat Bucknell 45-41 in the dedication of the Bisons' new pool.
A native of Holtwood, Pa., he returned to his Alma Mater as a soccer and swimming coach as well as Alumni director.
