Hall of Athletic Honor
No other athlete who had to play behind the headlines of another great performer has made as much of an impact on Gettysburg athletics. During his career, the 5'9", 160-pound Yeadon, Pa., native scored 1,192 points in 77 consecutive games. Not only was he a deadly outside shooter, but he was among the nation's best from the foul line.
He enjoyed playing in his home area of Philadelphia because he scored over 60 points in three appearances in the Palestra. Because of his unselfish ability to mesh with Ron Warner's talents, the Philadelphia sportswriters were unanimous in naming them the best backcourt combination in all college basketball.
Despite the fact Warner was setting a record scoring pace, he netted 15 20-point performances or better in his career with a high of 28. If assists records were kept in those days, he would have established an unbeatable record.
