Hall of Athletic Honor
He was 6', 175-pound all-around athlete from Atlantic City, N.J. He was an offensive and defensive end in football, a guard on the basketball team and a first baseman in baseball. However, in 1937 he was the starting quarterback against Penn State and in 1939 played short stop for Ira Plank.
He was an exciting basketball player to watch, making every shot count. In 1937 he scored four points in five seconds to beat Navy 26-24 and a year later played a key role in a 29-27 win over SMU.
One of several big baseball days for him came in the season's opener in 1937. He singled home three runs to beat Bucknell which enabled his old coach to start his 25th anniversary in fine style.
He was class president his freshman and sophomore years, inter- fraternity council president his senior year and president of the Penn and Sword.
