One of Gettysburg's first great tennis players, he became the number one singles player his freshman year and was perched in that position the remainder of his collegiate career. He posted a career record of 26-13 in first doubles play. An 8-2 record his senior year was an outstanding accomplishments considering he went against such opponents as Swarthmore, Haverford, Penn State and Bucknell.

He played one jayvee match his freshman year and again was quickly moved to the varsity for the rest of his career because of his explosive power. He played center forward and was team captain his senior year. As a sophomore, he scored eight goals on a 2-6 team. However, it was his play and leadership which led the Bullets to a 6-4-1 record his senior year. He scored winning goals in 2-1 victories over Navy and Temple.

For more than 50 years following his graduation from college, Clint remained an avid tennis player.
